Short Description:

SF-Y171 It is a bifunctional organosilane with a vinyl functional group and a hydrolyzable inorganic triethoxy silicon group. This bifunctional structure gives SF-Y171 special properties: it is able to organically bond inorganic materials (e.g., glass, metal, fillers, etc.) with organic polymer materials (e.g., thermosolids, thermoplastics, elastomers), thus acting as a bond promoter and/or surface modifier.

It is a colorless, low-viscosity liquid with a typical aromatic smell.

APPLICATION

SF-Y171 is suitable for wet curing polymer materials such as polyethylene, which is characterized by the grafting of vinyl silane to the polymer material through peroxide initiation during extrusion. Improve tensile and fracture strength, chemical corrosion resistance, scratch resistance and memory effect.

Because SF-Y171 can react with both inorganic fillers and organic polymers (initiated by peroxide or radiation), it can be used as an effective adhesive promoter. Pretreatment of glass, metal, or ceramic surfaces with SF-Y171 can enhance the adhesion of paint coatings to their surfaces, thereby improving their corrosion resistance.

Polymer systems modified with SF-Y171 (e.g., styrene acrylate) exhibit excellent bond strength and resistance to wet scrubbing under wet conditions.
